Most current email applications support the use of Lao text, provided
that Lao Unicode fonts are used. Sending messages with text in
non-Unicode Lao fonts is not recommended, because the person
receiving the message may not have a compatible font installed, or the
browser may not support that font type.
If you have a document containing Lao text in an older font convention
that you wish to send by email, send it as an attachment, and embed
the font in the document if possible, to be sure that the recipient
will view the document as it was created.
A fail-safe way of sending documents that contain Lao text is to
convert the document to PDF, embedding the fonts used, before
attaching it to your email message. Conversion to PDF is supported
directly by Microsoft® Word and many (free) open-source applications, or you can use a
"PDF printer" such as Microsoft® Print to PDF or PDF Creator.
