On Windows 2000 and Windows XP, Lao Unicode can be used with Microsoft Publisher 2002 and 2003 without any difficulties. Older Lao fonts should not generally be used.

Earlier versions of Microsoft Publisher do not work correctly with Lao Unicode, and MS Publisher 2000 prevents keyboard translation from working correctly for any Lao fonts.

It is sometimes possible to get around this by simply pressing the Alt key twice whenever text stops being output to a frame, but a more practical way to handle the problem is to enter the text into Word, then use cut and paste to transfer it into Publisher.
