The Lao Script for Windows application is
distributed by downloading from this site.
Lao Script for Windows may be installed either as a limited, Free Edition
(only LaoScript 8), or as a fully-functional,
licensed edition, requiring on-line activation (both LaoScript 8 and Lao Script for Windows, Version 7).
A 30-day trial license will be provided and activated automatically
on request, but you must purchase and activate a full license to
continue using the licensed edition after the end of the trial period.
Which License to Purchase?- LaoScript 8 has been developed especially for use with Windows 7 and Windows 8, and
supports both 32-bit and 64-bit applications on both 32-bit and 64-bit
editions of Windows, but remains fully compatible with Windows Vista and Windows® XP.
- Lao Script for Windows, Version 7 can only be used with 32-bit applications, and is
not recommended for use with Windows 7, Windows 8 (or later).
- The Gold Edition of both versions includes Thai to Lao
translation capabilities.
- The Free Edition of LaoScript 8 is provided for personal use only, and
does not require on-line activation, but does not support the use of
Lao Add-Ins or Lao menu functions.
- Please download and install the trial version

Purchasing Licenses in Lao PDR
If you live or work in Lao PDR, the latest version of the software
should still be downloaded from this site, but licenses may also be

Note that the price for a license sold by a dealer is set by the dealer,
and may be lower than the on-line price. However, email support for
Lao Script for Windows users is only provided for holders of licenses purchased on-line.
Holders of licenses purchased from a dealer should contact the dealer
for assistance with installing or using Lao Script for Windows.
License Activation
After purchasing a license, you will receive your license number and password by email.
Press the Activate (LaoScript 8) or License... (Lao Script for Windows, Version 7)
button on the "splash screen" shown when the application starts
(or, if using the LaoScript 8 Free Edition, after selecting
About LaoScript8... from the LaoKey shortcut menu).
Then enter your license number, password, and user name exactly as
shown on license email and complete the activation procedure as indicated.
For Lao Script for Windows, Version 7, you may also start license activation by selecting
Lao Script for Windows 7 - Licence Activation from the
Start - All Programs menu.
For both versions, detailed instructions are provided in the Help files
(User Guide) which may be opened from the appropriate entry in the
Start - All Programs menu, or from the LaoKey shortcut menu.
If you are unable to activate your license on-line directly, you may
also use your browser to obtain a license activation code.
Go to License Activation to obtain the license
activation code for your license.
